TUITION/FEE POLICY:
Tuition and fees are due at the time of registration.  Payments in the form of cash, check, credit card or money order are acceptable.  Weekly Payments:  Initial payment is due at the time of registration, and subsequent payments made prior to each class meeting.  A$40.00 fee will be assessed for all returned checks.  Payments should be made payable to Foluké Cultural Arts Center.  Limited financial assistance is available to those who qualify.

ATTENDANCE POLICY:
Students are expected to attend every class session/rehearsal unless cancelled by the Center staff. Makeup classes/rehearsals may be scheduled at a later date. Being tardy to class will result in the student not being able to participate in class but be present to observe and take notes. In the event of illness or emergency, students are expected to call and give notice. The numbers to call are 216-432-3772. Excessive absences may constitute dismissal from classes and loss on any scholarships or financial assistance.
 
SAFETY POLICY:
Students must be signed in and our daily.  Parents/Guardians may be asked to show ID when picking up a student.  Students attending all classes are required to remain in the Foluké Cultural Arts facility.  Leaving the facility with anyone other than a parent/guardian, or designee on the registration form is prohibited, and is grounds for immediate dismissal from classes.

CODE of CONDUCT:
Disrespectfulness will NOT be tolerated. All participants are expected to respect their instructors and each other. The occurrence of incidents of this nature will be immediate grounds for dismissal.

Students are expected to quietly enter the premises and conduct themselves accordingly as they wait for their classes to begin. Any incidents of rough-housing or loud behavior will be met with a warning on the first infraction. The second infraction will result in a conference with the parent present. A third infraction is grounds for dismissal.

STUDIO DRESS CODE POLICY:
The Foluké Cultural Arts Center has a dress code for dancers in the respective dance classes that must be adhered to. Jewelry is not to be worn in class. Female students are required to wear cover-ups when entering and leaving the dance studio area. Socks are not permitted during class, but may be worn during warm-up time.
 
Drama classes will be held in the dance studios, and we ask that shoes be removed upon entering to protect the floor covering, or use of jazz shoes, or slippers.  STREET SHOES are NOT Permitted.
 
AFRICAN
GIRLS - Black Leotard and black footless tights.  A lapa or 2 yds of fabric to be worn during class time.   Long hair must be worn in a bun, short hair must be pulled back. Girls wearing beads are asked to wear a bonnet to prevent beads from causing injury and/or falling off
BOYS - White T-shirt and black footless tights or biker shorts, 
 
BALLET/MODERN
GIRLS - Black Leotard and pink (convertible tights with pink ballet shoes. Long hair must be worn in a bun, short hair must be pulled back. Girls wearing beads are asked to wear a bonnet to prevent beads from causing injury and/or falling off
BOYS - White T-shirt and black footless tights or , white socks and black ballet or white shoes
 
HIP HOP
Casual clothes that will not inhibit movement: Sweat  suits, shorts, etc.  Street shoes are not permitted, so we ask that you bring shoes to change into for class.

 PERFORMANCE GUIDELINES:
DRESS & TECH REHEARSALS - All performers are expected to arrive at the rehearsal location with all needed materials at the designated time. Those performers not in attendance at tech rehearsals will not be allowed to perform.

APPEARANCE - Female dancers are required to wear hairnets, eye lashes, and stud earrings. Female dancers are also required to wear a flesh-toned camisole leotard under all costumes. Hail is to be worn pulled back in a tight bun if long or pulled back away from the face and neatly arranged if shorter in length. Finger nail and toenail polish is to be removed. No Jewelry, or watches are to be worn. Makeup: Foundation to match your skin tone, and earth tones for blush and lipstick.
Male dancers are required to wear a dance belt. Male dancers with braids or longer hair must have their hair pulled back at the nape of the neck. No jewelry or watches are to be worn.

BACK STAGE PROTOCOLS - Parents, Friends, and Relatives are not permitted back stage before, during and after performances. There is quite a bit of activity that goes on back stage before during and after performances, and the performers can not be distracted. Each performer is responsible for themselves, their costumes, and their choreography, and in order for them to remain ^on task^ they must be focused. We ask that you meet your performer at the stage door, or in the lobby.

PLACEMENT CLASSES:
Students will be evaluated during a placement class during the first week of classes to assure proper placement. Depending on the student^s development, placement may be changed at any time.

OBSERVATION CLASSES:
Students families and guests are not only welcome but encouraged to observe classes during designated observation days. Advance notice will be given for these days. Classes are not open at other times so that the students can work without inhibition and give their full attention to the instructor.
